The taste changes.

When I was younger, I never liked musicals, but now things are slowly turning around. I start to appreciate synchronised moves of the dancers; clean, melodic voices of the singers; music that used to be a background of Looney Tunes cartoons is now is reborn with new meaning; the realistic costumes and the scenery.

Cats is an old musical made with modern technology. Actors look like humanised cats (computerised, like in Avatar). Not a perfect animation for today’s standards, but I shifted my attention from poor technical aspects and focused on amazing performance and music. There are plenty of songs and dances.

I really recommend this movie to any one who would like to experience a higher level of art. Hopefully large audience in cinemas will encourage production of new films like this, and less cartoon-like marvel hero movies.
